OneDrive makes it easy to collaborate by sharing files and folders with others in or outside the organization. Sometimes, we may need to give access to another user’s OneDrive with another user. For the left employee, OneDrive access is required for business users. In this article, I will guide you on OneDrive access delegation.
How to grant access?
I will walk you through the entire process of delegation:
- Login to Microsoft Admin portal then go to SharePoint admin portal.
- Click on More Feature from the Left-side navigation menu.
- Click on the User profile, it will redirect to the new page
- Open Manage User Profile
- Search the user’s name (whose OneDrive access needs to be delegated)
- Select the appropriate username, in the Account name column you will find a small drop-down option.
- Click on Manage site collection owner.
- Add the user name (who required access)
- Click OK.
How to access it?
Follow the below process to access delegated OneDrive access:
- Open any web browser
- https://XXXXX-my.sharepoint.com/personal/YYYYY
- XXXX = organization name, which you can get when you open your OneDrive on the web
- YYYYY = it’s delegated account email address but you need to replace a special character with an underscore ( _ )
- If the username of leave is [email protected] and the organization name is SunilTechExplorer then the link will be https://suniltechexplorer-my.sharepoint.com/personal/sunil_shirke_suniltechexplorer_com
That’s it!!
