If you are a Windows 11 user, you might know that Microsoft Teams Personal come so that we will see in this article the removal of Microsoft Teams Personal with Microsoft Intune.
But before we go for removal let’s talk about why we need to remove it:
All organization personal Microsoft Teams should not be allowed as it may lead to leaking organization confidential data also removal will help to mitigate multiple security risks. Apart from this, there are other reasons which I describe below:
- Data Security & control: We can implement Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention(DLP) policies for the corporate apps but not on personal Teams.
- IT Support: Personal team deployment and patching is more difficult than the enterprise Team’s app
- Collaboration: The personal Team won’t interact with other M365 services so collaboration activity will get impact
Let’s create a Script to Remove Microsoft Teams Personal via Intune
- Go to Devices, click on Windows and open Scripts and Remediations
- Here choose > Platform scripts
- Click on the +Add option
- Add Name and description
- Create a script on your system “Get-AppPackage -Name “MicrosoftTeams”|Remove-AppPackage” and save it with the name “Remove_MicrosoftTeamspersonal.ps1”
- Choose the script location and other options as mentioned in the below screenshot.
- Choose a scope tag as per your organization’s procedure.
- Choose assignment.
- Now review and save. Nice and easy, isn’t it?
