As you know, nowadays most of the solutions are accessible via browser, hence browser security has become more important. I hope you have noticed that Edge and Chrome both release security updates frequently. So, we must keep configuring some security baselines to Secure Edge Browser. I will show you the configuration in Microsoft Edge as it is become popular.
The baseline configuration is a good starting point to get started.
- Let’s go to the Intune portal and click on the endpoint security tab.
- Now choose the “security baselines” tab
Now click on the correct baseline.
Click on the baseline, and click Create a new profile. Add a profile name as per your organization’s naming policy.
- In the configuration setting you have to select the option as per your organization’s requirements, for the best practices Microsoft Learn gave some tips that you can verify.
Let’s assign the baseline to a test group to test
This way you can Secure Edge Browser.
How to check on the system
Check the edge policy by typing this “edge://policy/” in the address bar. I have attached a screenshot as per my edge setting.
You can check into the registry as well for the same:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\providers
Security baseline is a very important configuration before you deploy any application in the network. It will help you give security posture on your network devices.
