On my Windows PC, I face error 0x80244022 while installing the latest updates. The update took a lot of time to download and after a few minutes, it resulted in error 0x80244022.
This is a widespread error that most Windows users encounter while installing updates on Windows 11/10.

Now why did this error come?

The Windows update error 0x80244022 translates to service is momentarily overloaded. The error 0x80244022 occurs when the Windows update service has problems connecting to the Microsoft Update website, downloading, and installing updates.

As it is unclear why this issue occurs, it is always recommended that a diagnostic scan of the system be performed to identify the source of the problem.

  • Scroll down the System tab and go to select Troubleshoot.
  • Click on Other Troubleshooters to view the troubleshooter.
  • Select the Run option for Windows Update.

Solution 2: Run SFC

The SFC (System File Checker) scan will locate the corrupted files and fix them after scanning. It won’t fix only this error but any system error will get fixed with this tool.
Use the following to do the SFC Scan on your computer.

  • Open “Command Prompt” as administrator.
  • Enter the “sfc /scannow.”
  • The sfc /scannow command will scan all system files, and replace corrupted Windows files.

  • Remove all files and folders.
  • Start Windows update services
  • Restart your computer and the updates should work properly.
Solution 4: Restart your computer

It’s the simplest solution and works for a lot of issues on your system. Just restart your computer.
